Privacy Policy

Updated 3 October 2026

This policy covers the ACTS: Auctioneer Training iOS and Android app, actsauctioneer.com, tester registrations and support. ACTS is operated by Nicholas McIntyre, trading as ACTS: Auctioneer Training. Contact actsauctioneertraining@gmail.com about privacy, access, correction, deletion or a complaint.

Training information on your device

ACTS does not require an ACTS account. Auction scripts, user-entered names and labels, saved settings, presets, training results, scores, bid history, timing, progress and streaks are stored in the app storage on your device. ACTS does not upload this training information to an ACTS training database or to RevenueCat.

The app also keeps preferences, a cached membership status and dates, and local counters that control reminders, optional upgrade messages and store-rating requests. Your operating system may include app data in a device backup according to its settings. Avoid entering confidential client information that you do not need for practice.

Optional microphone and speech recognition

Voice control recognises spoken bids and auction commands while you enable the microphone. ACTS uses the recognised words to operate the session. Resulting bids or actions can appear in local session history. ACTS does not keep raw microphone recordings or send them to its own server or RevenueCat.

On iOS, ACTS requires Apple's on-device speech recognition. If that is unavailable, use manual controls; ACTS does not enable a server-based speech fallback on iOS.

In ACTS 4.0.1 and later on Android, ACTS prefers the dedicated on-device recogniser. If you choose Allow online speech in the speech privacy prompt, the enabled Android speech provider may receive microphone audio and process it on its servers to recognise your commands. The provider and its retention practices depend on your device and speech-service settings. Choosing On-device only prevents ACTS from falling back to that system service. You can change this choice in ACTS voice-control settings.

Earlier Android builds may use the system speech provider after microphone permission without the separate ACTS speech privacy choice. Update to 4.0.1 to use the processing controls described above. Voice control is optional. You can decline the privacy prompt, turn the microphone off, revoke microphone or speech permissions in phone settings, and use manual controls. ACTS requests microphone permission before listening.

Spoken training responses

ACTS generates English text-to-speech responses locally using bundled voice-model files. It does not send scripts, reserve prices, bids or disturbance text to an external speech-generation service. This is separate from the optional Android speech-recognition service described above.

Apple, Google and RevenueCat

Apple App Store or Google Play processes purchases, subscriptions and store-issued offer-code redemptions. ACTS does not receive full payment-card or bank-account details. ACTS Standard and ACTS Pro access is validated through RevenueCat, including one-time ACTS Pro Lifetime purchases and eligible permanent Pro gifts.

RevenueCat is initialised when ACTS starts, including before you make a purchase. It can receive an anonymous app-user identifier, app and device/platform information, product identifiers, purchase history, receipt or signed transaction information, transaction and subscription dates, and entitlement status. These records support available offers, purchase verification, fraud prevention, access, restoration and limited subscription analytics.

ACTS does not send local training history, microphone recordings or scripts to RevenueCat. ACTS does not use advertising SDKs, sell personal information or use RevenueCat for advertising or cross-app tracking. Apple, Google and RevenueCat handle their services under their own policies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ ; https://policies.google.com/privacy ; https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/ .

App version checks

From ACTS 4.1.5, the app requests the supported-version policy from actsauctioneer.com once on a fresh app launch. It does not repeat that launch check merely because you return to an app still running in the background. Earlier builds from 4.1.2 build 40102 may also check when returning to the app. The hosting infrastructure processes the IP address and ordinary connection/request details needed to deliver and secure this response. The request does not include training history, scripts, microphone audio, purchase details or an ACTS account identifier.

The app stores the version policy and last successful check on your device. In current builds, a supported build can use cached version approval offline for up to 30 days after a successful check. A fresh installation, a newly installed build or an expired approval needs a connection. Earlier builds may use a shorter 24-hour period. A version known to require an update remains blocked until a supported version is installed or a revised policy permits it. Membership verification is separate from version approval; its cached status and renewal checks do not extend an expired or revoked purchase indefinitely.

Notifications and ratings

Optional practice reminders are scheduled locally using activity, streaks and your reminder preferences. The operating system handles permission and delivery. Notification content may be visible on your lock screen, depending on your settings. ACTS does not register an ACTS remote-push account for these reminders. You can turn reminders off in ACTS or phone settings.

ACTS may ask the store to consider showing its rating prompt after training. Local counters limit requests. The store controls the prompt and review, and does not tell ACTS through this feature whether you submitted a rating or what you wrote.

PDF exports and sharing

When you choose to export or share a script, ACTS creates a PDF on your device and opens the system share sheet. The PDF can contain the names, labels and other text you entered. ACTS uses temporary files for sharing and attempts to clean these up; the operating system may also retain cached files.

The destination app, recipient or cloud service you choose receives the shared copy under its own practices. Deleting a script or ACTS does not delete copies you exported, sent or saved elsewhere. Check a PDF before sharing it.

Website and Android tester registrations

The website's optional Android testing form collects your name, Google Play account email, country, alpha/beta preference, optional device details and consent to testing contact. We store these with registration status and timestamps in a Cloudflare D1 database. Authorised ACTS administration can view and export registrations to organise testing and provide relevant instructions. The Google Play email may be added to Google's tester access list. Submitting this form is not consent to general marketing.

The website stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser. Cloudflare and the hosting infrastructure process connection information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and secure the website. ACTS has not added advertising or behavioural analytics trackers to the website. Platform security and essential service mechanisms may operate independently of the theme setting.

Website registration records are separate from local app training data. You can withdraw from testing or request correction or deletion by emailing actsauctioneertraining@gmail.com from your registration email. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify the request. You do not need to send an account password.

Support and permitted disclosures

If you contact us, we receive your contact details and the message, screenshots or other information you choose to provide. We use them to respond, investigate problems and manage your request. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary personal information about others.

Service providers process information as needed to operate hosting, email, store billing and purchase verification. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or security, or with your direction. Providers can process data outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations used for their services. Their processing locations and retention practices are governed by their services; we do not promise Australian-only storage.

Retention, deletion and cancellation

Local training information remains until removed through available ACTS controls, clearing app data or uninstalling. Device backups, exported PDFs and shared copies must be managed separately. ACTS cannot retrieve or erase local records remotely.

Tester and support records are kept while needed for the testing programme, your request, security, disputes or applicable legal obligations. We review continued need and delete or de-identify records when no longer needed. You can ask us to remove your tester registration, exported tester-list copies under our control, or identifiable support and RevenueCat records where applicable. Provider backups or legally required purchase records may remain under the provider's retention rules.

Deleting ACTS or requesting data deletion does not cancel a subscription. Cancel through the Apple or Google account used to purchase it. Apple and Google independently retain store-account and transaction records; requests concerning those records must also be made to the relevant provider.

Security, choices and complaints

We use operating-system protections for app storage and restrict access to website registration administration. No system can guarantee complete security. Keep your device and store accounts secure and software updated.

Contact actsauctioneertraining@gmail.com for access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal or a privacy complaint. We will assess your request, verify identity where necessary and respond within a reasonable period, subject to applicable law. If unresolved, you can contact the privacy regulator in your location, including the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: https://www.oaic.gov.au/ .

Children

ACTS is intended for auction training and professional development and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if a child has submitted information so we can assess and remove it where appropriate.

Policy updates

We update this policy when features, providers or data practices change. The date identifies this revision, also available at https://actsauctioneer.com/privacy . Material new uses requiring consent will be explained before that use begins. Older app versions may offer fewer controls; update ACTS to use the current privacy choices.
